The statewide Municipal, Rural and Industrial (MR&I water supply program enables North Dakota communities and rural water systems to bring a clean and reliable water supply to residents, farms, schools, and businesses. Access to a sustainable supply of quality water can make or break small towns and family farms. As the fiscal agent for the Federal MR&I program, the Garrison Diversion Conservancy District (Garrison Diversion), along with the State Water Commission, helps expand MR&I water supplies in North Dakota. Together, they are responsible for administering the Federal MR&I program. The program has $400 million authorized in federal funding, which helps water systems deliver quality water to homes, businesses, and farms across North Dakota.
